The case of a licensed practical nurse accused of stealing prescription drugs from a Carbonear hospital has been set over until next month.

Charmaine Hudson, 45, is facing charges of theft under $5,000 and falsifying documents. When her case was called last Wednesday, defence lawyer Jerome Kennedy told the judge he was waiting for more information from the Crown.

Hudson, who was present in Harbour Grace provincial court last week along with several sup- porters, is a resident of Victoria. Eastern Health contacted police a year ago upon identifying several instances where prescription medications were missing at Carbonear General Hospital, where Hudson used to work.

The accused was arrested and charged in February 2015 following a police investigation into Eastern Health’s initial complaint. The Crown indicated last month it would proceed by indictment on this matter.

The case will return to Harbour Grace provincial court Aug. 19.
