Local female teams get first round of Easter tournament marching orders

It is not only minor hockey teams who received their marching orders in the first round of grading reports.

Female hockey has also released its first grading report for the 2015-2016 season and much like the minor divisions, it has young athletes travelling the province in pursuit of a coveted provincial title.

There is one stark difference between the two grading re- ports. Where minor has a large number of divisions in varying age groups, the female game divides its players into three divisions (under-12, under-15 and under-20) and has three mega tournaments featuring as many as 20 teams in each one.

In the under-12 division, teams from the Bay Arena, CeeBees minor and Trinity Placentia will be participating in the mega tourney set for Corner Brook on March 18-20.

That marks the end of a sole Bay Arena entrant at provincial tournaments for the time being. As it stands right now, the only local representatives at the under-15 level will be CeeBees and Trinity Placentia. That tournament is being held in Gander March 18-20.

There is a sole representative from this region taking part in the under-20 tournament being held in Kelligrews March 11-13. Amongst the 19 teams currently registered to compete, Trinity Placentia is the only local team taking part.
