Bay Roberts holds illumination parade
A mild evening meant plenty of people got out to enjoy the nighttime Illumination parade in Bay Roberts Wednesday. Hundreds from Bay Roberts and neighbouring communities lined Water Street between the Town Hall and the Royal Canadian Legion to get a glimpse of the floats, dancers and walkers for the second running of the parade. It serves as the unofficial kick off to the Christmas parade season, and what such parade is complete without an appearance by the man in the big, red suit — Santa Claus. In this instance, Santa was pulled along in a dory as children squealed with delight. The Compass was there and captured these images.
Santa Claus riding in a dory was the highlight of the parade.

Paul Norman and his daughter, Lorelei, were just a couple of the hundreds in attendance at the parade.
