SNOWY PARADES IN TRINITY-CONCEPTION -PLACENTIA
A snowstorm late in the week created the perfect setting for the first batch of Santa Claus parades in the Trinity-Conception-Placentia area. Dec. 5-6, The Compass dropped by parades in Bay Roberts, Cavendish/Whiteway, Harbour Grace and Placentia. Here’s a small sampling of what we saw, but you’ll find plenty more photos on our website at www.cbncompass.ca.
The CeeBees Minor Hockey Association had a fun-loving group out for the parade in Harbour Grace. These girls were handing out treats. They are, from the left, Lauren Hunt, Kierra Haynes, Nikita Stone, Maggie Shute and Julia Verge.
The Ascension Collegiate cheerleading squad put off a great performance at the annual Bay Roberts Santa Claus parade Sunday, Dec. 6. Shaking their pom poms and dancing along Water Street in Bay Roberts was an easy task for this seasoned group. Even though the temperature dropped below freezing, the girls kept moving, even doing shoulder sit stunts along the parade route, a move that takes balance and strength for all the team members.
The Simpsons made an appearance at the Whiteway-Cavendish Santa Claus parade. Here, Hailey Jackson (Lisa), Tanya Jackson (Marge) and Blake Jackson (Bart) wave to the crowd.
Children, from left, Sammy Collins, Chloe Whittle, Chase Brooks and Sophia Brooks made sure there was plenty of candy available at the Dunville Lions Club/Town of Placentia Annual Santa Claus Parade.
