Harbour Grace’s former town manager and chief administrative officer is now facing criminal charges. Lisa Carroll — who most recently went by Lisa Pike during her employment with the town — is charged with breach of trust by a public official, theft over $5,000 and theft under $5,000.

The 47-year-old resigned from her job with the town last month, having worked there for less than two years. The town was initially reluctant to discuss why she resigned, but a few days later Mayor Terry Barnes confirmed at a council meeting it was due to a police investigation. It was the town that contacted Trinity Conception RCMP about Carroll.

Carroll was released from custody last Thursday and is scheduled to appear in Harbour Grace provincial court March 16.
