Spaniard’s Bay man charged with attempted murder
A 45-year-old Spaniard’s Bay man is charged with attempted murdered as a result of last Tuesday stabbing incident at a shopping mall in Bay Roberts.
Jason Alexander King is facing six charges in all. He appeared at Harbour Grace provincial court Wednesday morning. The female victim injuries were serious but not life threatening, according to police.
King is also charged with two counts of assault, mischief for damaging a cell phone, uttering threats and breach of probation. There was a court order requiring him to have no direct contact with the victim.
Dollarama, the scene of last Tuesday ’s events, was closed for the remainder of the day at the Bay Roberts Shopping Centre, but it reopened the next day.
King is due back in court April 6 following a seven-day psychiatric assessment.
