The following is a summary of results from Easter hockey tournaments involving peewee and midget teams from the TrinityConception-Placentia region.

For results from atom and bantam tournaments, played March 31-April 2, see the April 12 print edition of The Compass.

Judging by results at the provincial competition, it’s safe to say the Trinity Placentia Figure Skating Club is pretty good at synchronized skating.

The Whitbourne-based club dominated the event, held March 11-12 at the Pepsi Centre in Corner Brook.

TPFSC medalled in every category it entered, including a trio of first place finishes. It’s first gold came in the Adult SYS III competition where the TP Rusty Edges beat out the rest of the competition to claim the top spot.

That was followed by a TP Explosions gold medal victory in the pre-novice division. Not to be outdone, the TP Eruptions finished in first place of the elementary division.

Trinity Placentia also registered three bronze medal finishes. Those include the TP Fireworks in the Adult SYS II division, the TP Flames in the juvenile competition and the TP Sparks in the beginner I category.

Placentia-based PARC Skating Club had its Ice Breakers win the Adult Sys I division, while the Ice Gems from the Conception Bay North Skating Club finished in third place of the beginner II competition.

A couple of weeks prior to the synchro competition, Skate NL held its provincial championships Feb. 28-29 in Botwood.

Each of the three local clubs sent skater to the event — 19 in total — but they failed to bring home a medal.

The Conception Bay North Skating Club sent a number of skaters to the provincial competition Feb. 28-29 in Botwood. The Trinity Placentia under-15 female TeePees won gold at their recent mega tournament.

The Bay Arena midget B Rovers won their midget I division provincial tournament held at the Bay Arena in Bay Roberts March 28-30.
