The Compass - - NEWS -

In a story published in the May 17th edition of The Compass about former Harbour Grace town manager Lisa Carroll’s sentencing for theft and breach of public trust, missing bank deposits dating back to June of last year were mentioned. The agreed statement of facts read in court prior to sentencing said those missing deposits — unrelated to the specific charges Carroll pleaded guilty to — were not reported to police at the time. The Compass has since confirmed through both the town and Harbour Grace RCMP the disappearance of the June deposits was in fact reported to police. Harbour Grace RCMP Staff Sgt. Howard Gale said, “An investigation did not support a charge against anyone.”
