Placentia-area man pleads not guilty to sexual interference
A man from the Placentia area accused of touching an underage girl inappropriately is pleading not guilty.
A publication ban is in place to protect the identity of the 44-year-old man’s victim. The accused is facing three counts each of sexual interference and sexual assault.
Defence lawyer Randy Piercey entered the not guilty pleas on his client’s behalf last Wednesday and requested a trial by judge and jury in Newfoundland and Labrador Supreme Court. A preliminary inquiry will take place Nov. 23 in St. John’s Provincial Court.
The charges stem from alleged events in multiple communities in the summer of 2014.
