The rain that threatened early in the day could not hamper the spirits surrounding the annual kick-off parade for Bay Roberts’ Klondyke Days.

The sun shone as the parade rolled from the council building to the Royal Canadian Legion parking lot where hundreds of parade watchers gathered for hot dogs, drinks and music on July 20.

Klondyke Days run from July 20 to Aug. 1 and is Bay Roberts’ way to celebrate its rich heritage and culture.

The parade featured plenty of colourful characters, including Mario Kart, Finding Nemo, Minions and others.

The Compass was there and snapped these images.
