Lo­cal ath­letes take part in Re­becca Pack friend­ship skate

Lo­cal skaters from fig­ure skat­ing groups in the Trin­i­tyCon­cep­tion area took part in the an­nual Re­becca Pack Me­mo­rial Friend­ship Skate in Grand Falls-Windsor Oct. 21-23.

More than half-a-dozen ath­letes from the Con­cep­tion Bay North Skat­ing Club and the Trin­ity Pla­cen­tia Fig­ure Skat­ing Club based in Whit­bourne hit the ice for the first com­pe­ti­tion of the new skat­ing sea­son. PARC Skat­ing Club in Pla­cen­tia did not send any par­tic­i­pants.

CBN’s Laura Keefe fin­ished the week­end with a pair of podium fin­ishes. In the Star 7 short pro­gram, Keefe nabbed third place, while in the Star 6 long pro­gram she fin­ished in sec­ond place.

At the Ju­ve­nile women un­der-14 level, Claire Bar­ron from TPFSC fin­ished in fourth place. Mean­while, Bri­anna Rus­sell nabbed fourth in the Star 5 divi­sion. The fol­low­ing is a list of re­sults from the com­pe­ti­tion:
