Allan Potter murder case returns to court
Allan Winfield Potter’s second-degree murder case recently returned to court.
The 53-year-old and Daniel Edward Leonard are jointly accused of killing Dale Porter in June of 2014. The man was found on the ground in front of his home in North River with multiple stab wounds.
Following his arrest earlier this fall in Ontario, Potter made his first courtroom appearance in Newfoundland at Harbour Grace Provincial Court, but his next court date was moved to St. John’s Nov. 4.
However, the judge hearing the case that day set over the matter to Nov. 16 in Harbour Grace Provincial Court. Potter’s lawyer, Randy Piercey, represented him in court.
Leonard is also back in court Nov. 16. He was among several people arrested fol- lowing raids by police targeting the outlaw Vikings Motorcycle Club. Police have identified Leonard and Potter as members of the group.
