Al­lan Pot­ter mur­der case re­turns to court

Al­lan Win­field Pot­ter’s sec­ond-de­gree mur­der case re­cently re­turned to court.

The 53-year-old and Daniel Ed­ward Leonard are jointly ac­cused of killing Dale Porter in June of 2014. The man was found on the ground in front of his home in North River with mul­ti­ple stab wounds.

Fol­low­ing his ar­rest ear­lier this fall in On­tario, Pot­ter made his first court­room ap­pear­ance in New­found­land at Har­bour Grace Pro­vin­cial Court, but his next court date was moved to St. John’s Nov. 4.

How­ever, the judge hear­ing the case that day set over the mat­ter to Nov. 16 in Har­bour Grace Pro­vin­cial Court. Pot­ter’s lawyer, Randy Piercey, rep­re­sented him in court.

Leonard is also back in court Nov. 16. He was among sev­eral peo­ple ar­rested fol- low­ing raids by po­lice tar­get­ing the out­law Vik­ings Motorcycle Club. Po­lice have iden­ti­fied Leonard and Pot­ter as mem­bers of the group.
