FOSSILS DISPLAY IN UPPER ISLAND COVE
Honouring the work of paleontologists who visited the town in 2004 to remove several species of fossil specimens, Upper Island Cove now has replicas of 570-million-year-old fossils on display at the community’s recreation centre. The new display, which is a permanent addition to the centre, was unveiled Sept. 17. Front row (from left): Town manager Neil Shute, Coun. Cindy Dobbin, Coun.
