Santa Claus parades abound
The Compass has kept busy on the weekends covering Santa Claus parades around the region. In this week’s holiday edition of the paper you’ll find a whole slew of photos taken during parades in Bay Roberts, Carbonear, Green’s Harbour and Hant’s Harbour. Look for more snaps too in the Dec. 27 edition.
As the skies darkened, residents of Green’s Harbour lit up their trucks, quads and side-bysides and hit the road.
The Trinity Bay community’s annual Santa Claus Parade was a big hit for those who came out to have a gander as participants made their way through town on Saturday, Dec. 10. Float after float brought with it holiday cheer and good tidings.
The Compass found a good spot on the main highway and had the flash all charged up to take some photos amidst the darkness.
The Airco Express put on an impressive show, with actual steam rising from inside the float.
This float had a little bit of everything — the Grinch, a snowman, and a few folks from the popular Disney movie “Frozen.”
Santa brought along Mrs. Claus for his ride through Green’s Harbour.
Nixon’s Gingerbread House had a holly jolly look going for it, no doubt.
Spongebob and Plankton hopped on a boat to partake in the Green’s Harbour parade.
Mickey and Minnie were more than happy to wave at anyone willing to take in the parade.
These folks certainly had some Christmas spirit going for them.
These two looked sharp in their Fred and Wilma costumes, representing the old Hanna-Barbera cartoon “The Flintstones.”
The Green’s Harbour Fire Department brought along their canine mascot for the parade.
