As a part of Remembrance Day celebrations, students at Holy Redeemer participate in a poster, poem, and essay contest, sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 9 in Spaniard’s Bay.

Abigail Galway, an eighth grade student at Holy Redeemer Elementary, placed third at the provincial level in the poster contest. Galway’s winning entry will now go on to the national level to be judged.

Winners from each category of the contest are selected from each grade level, from kindergarten to ninth, and then displayed at the annual Remembrance Day dinner at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 9.

Winning entries of the poster contest, a primary level contest, and the poem and essay contests, elementary and intermediate levels, are sent to Provincial Command of the Royal Canadian Legion to be judged on a provincial basis.

Abigail Galway, alongside Gordon Parsons, David Thistle and William Titford, placed third in the provincial level in the poster contest.
