Shortlist for 2017 Newfoundland and Labrador Book Awards Non-Fiction and E.J Pratt Poetry Award will be announced at the Carbonear Public Library. Funded by ArtsNL and the Community Foundation NL. Readings by Charis Cotter and Andrew Peacock.

Bay Roberts chase the ace
For the Bay Roberts Cultural Foundation, is held at the Bay Roberts Legion beginning 7 p.m. Ticket sales end at 8:45 and the draw takes place at 9 p.m. This week’s escalating jackpot is estimated to be at $11,000. There is a 50/50 draw at the end of the evening.
New Hope Al-ANON
Meets every Tuesday 7:30 p.m. at the U-Turn Addictions Centre in Carbonear, at 46 Powell Drive. A 12-step recovery program for relatives and friends of alcoholics.
The Trinity Conception NARANON Family Group offers a 12step program designed to help relatives and friends of addicts recover from the effects of their addiction.

Museum and gallery
The Road to Yesterday Museum and the Christopher Pratt Gallery in the Cable Building, Water Street, Bay Roberts, open 2-4 p.m. Wednesdays only. Special tours can be arranged by appointment and payment of the prescribed fee.
