Laval goes un­de­feated to claim an­other AAA ban­ner in Pil­ley’s Is­land

The Laval High School boys ball hockey team did it again, claim­ing a AAA pro­vin­cial ti­tle for the third straight year.

Com­pet­ing against five teams that qual­i­fied in re­gional com­pe­ti­tions, the Pla­cen­tia squad went un­de­feated in roundrobin ac­tion be­fore tak­ing care of Bon­av­ista’s Dis­cov­ery Col­le­giate 7-5 in the semi-fi­nals.

In the cham­pi­onship game against Mo­bile Cen­tral High, Laval con­tin­ued on with solid play en route to a 6-3 vic­tory April 8. Wil­liam Neville re­ceived an in­di­vid­ual sports­man­ship award at the tour­na­ment, which was hosted by Dorset Col­le­giate in Pil­ley’s Is­land. In the team’s first game, Laval eas­ily han­dled Dorset Col­le­giate with a 5-1 win. Laval went on to nar­rowly de­feat Tem­ple­ton Acad­emy from Mead­ows 2-1, leav­ing the team in first place for Di­vi­sion A.
