Laval goes undefeated to claim another AAA banner in Pilley’s Island
The Laval High School boys ball hockey team did it again, claiming a AAA provincial title for the third straight year.
Competing against five teams that qualified in regional competitions, the Placentia squad went undefeated in roundrobin action before taking care of Bonavista’s Discovery Collegiate 7-5 in the semi-finals.
In the championship game against Mobile Central High, Laval continued on with solid play en route to a 6-3 victory April 8. William Neville received an individual sportsmanship award at the tournament, which was hosted by Dorset Collegiate in Pilley’s Island. In the team’s first game, Laval easily handled Dorset Collegiate with a 5-1 win. Laval went on to narrowly defeat Templeton Academy from Meadows 2-1, leaving the team in first place for Division A.
