Car­bon­ear com­pany awarded ten­der for night-time con­struc­tion pi­lot

The pro­vin­cial govern­ment will test whether it’s worth­while to carry on work­ing on road projects af­ter dark this con­struc­tion sea­son.

Con­cord Paving Ltd. of Car­bon­ear has been awarded a $2.5 mil­lion ten­der to com­plete a pi­lot project.

The com­pany will pave a sec­tion of the Trans-Canada High­way from Ken­mount Road to Sal­monier Line at night.

Fac­tors such as safety, pro­duc­tiv­ity, costs and im­pacts on mo­torists and res­i­dents will be con­sid­ered and com­piled in a re­port af­ter the project is over.
