Ryan Hawco to en­ter guilty pleas for South River armed rob­bery

Ryan Hawco has de­cided to en­ter guilty pleas for three of his seven charges.

Hawco ap­peared in Har­bour Grace pro­vin­cial court last Wed­nes­day,

May 10.

Hawco, 35, was ar­rested in Oc­to­ber of

2016 fol­low­ing an in­ci­dent at a South River busi­ness where an armed male en­tered the build­ing with a knife, de­mand­ing money and cig­a­rettes.

Hawco is charged with com­mit­ting rob- bery, be­ing dis­guised with in­tent, pos­ses­sion of a weapon for dan­ger- ous pur­poses, mis­chief re­lat­ing to prop­erty, ut­ter­ing threats to cause death or bod­ily harm, fail­ure to com­ply with con­di­tion of un­der­tak­ing, and a re­cog­ni­zance to keep the peace re­lat­ing to a sep­a­rate in­ci­dent.

Last Wed­nes­day, the court learned Hawco would be en­ter­ing guilty pleas for the charges of rob­bery, pos­ses­sion of a weapon, and be­ing dis­guised with in­tent.

A date for Hawco’s sen­tenc­ing has not yet been fi­nal­ized due to Hawco’s lawyer’s sched­ule be­ing un­clear at the time, al­though the court is look­ing at July 24. Ryan Hawco was ar­rested last Oc­to­ber fol­low­ing re­ports of an armed rob­bery in South River.
