Laval claims 3A ball hockey title, Sentinels runners-up at 4A tournament
Laval High School claimed a provincial girls ball hockey title earlier this month, and Carbonear Collegiate came ever so close to doing the same.
Competing at the School Sports Newfoundland and Labrador 3A Girls Varsity Ball Hockey Provincials in Glovertown, the Placentia school defeated the host team 9-4 in the championship final on Saturday, May 6.
Meanwhile, back in Conception Bay North, the host Carbonear Collegiate Sentinels battled hard and came close to claiming the 4A Girls Varsity Ball Hockey Provincials banner. But it wasn’t in the cards, as Menihek High School from Labrador City won 3-2 in the championship final.
