Laval claims 3A ball hockey ti­tle, Sen­tinels run­ners-up at 4A tour­na­ment

Laval High School claimed a pro­vin­cial girls ball hockey ti­tle ear­lier this month, and Car­bon­ear Col­le­giate came ever so close to do­ing the same.

Com­pet­ing at the School Sports New­found­land and Labrador 3A Girls Var­sity Ball Hockey Provin­cials in Glover­town, the Pla­cen­tia school de­feated the host team 9-4 in the cham­pi­onship fi­nal on Satur­day, May 6.

Mean­while, back in Con­cep­tion Bay North, the host Car­bon­ear Col­le­giate Sen­tinels bat­tled hard and came close to claim­ing the 4A Girls Var­sity Ball Hockey Provin­cials ban­ner. But it wasn’t in the cards, as Meni­hek High School from Labrador City won 3-2 in the cham­pi­onship fi­nal.
