Town of Placentia launches smart phone application
Town looking to connect with residents through app
The Town of Placentia is the first in the area to release an app for the community.
The town launched the Placentia App at the Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre May 12. The app is meant to serve as a mobile event calendar, as well as a source of information for residents and visitors.
Included in the app are information regarding events, attractions, places to stay, things to do, and advisories. App users will have access to contact information for town council members and staff, as well as a business directory.
“Our new app is one part of our commitment to improve communications with our residents and tourists coming to our town,” said Mayor Wayne Power.
The app will provide users with instant notifications to their smart phone when anything of note happens in the town. Weekly app maintenance and updates are scheduled as the town changes the overall design, or find new ways to connect with users. The app is available for free on both the Apple App Store, and Google Play Store.
The Town of Placentia app provides a calendar of town events, live public alerts, and tourist information.
