Chubbs await­ing coun­sel

Court mat­ter set over to June 14

Joshua Chubbs’ court mat­ter will have to wait another two weeks.

On May 17 Chubbs was sched­uled for ad­journ­ment for elec­tion and/or plea. How­ever, Chubbs’ pre­vi­ous lawyer, Johnathan McDon­ald, is no longer with the same firm, and there­fore no longer in­volved with the case.

Chubbs, 23, is cur­rently await­ing coun­cil, which is ex­pected to take about two weeks. The mat­ter was set over to June 14 at 9:30 a.m.

Chubbs is charged un­der the Med­i­cal Act of New­found­land for en­gag­ing in med­i­cal prac­tice with­out a li­cense from June 1 to Oct. 15, 2016. He’s also ac­cused of ad­ver­tis­ing those ser­vices from Dec. 1-16. Charges were laid against Chubbs on Feb. 20 of this year.
