What a poor welcome for tourists

The Compass - - Editorial -

“Welcome to Pothole Alley.” That’s what I will say to tourists we meet this summer.

To say our roads are atrocious is putting it mildly. I have never seen our roads in such poor condition. “Potholes ahead” say the hundreds of signs placed along our highways warning of the state of the pavement. It is shocking.

Everyone we meet is talking about the state of our roads. Justin Trudeau boasted about spending billions of dollars on infrastructure during his election campaign. Well, Justin, show us the money.

Newfoundland is spending millions on promotion to attract people everywhere to come to our happy province. And they will come in the thousands.

God help our reputation when they drive off the ferry at Port aux Basques.

I’m disgusted!

God help our reputation when they drive off the ferry at Port aux Basques.
