Car veers off the road on Water Street in Carbonear
A Cadillac crashed between two buildings on Water Street in Carbonear on the afternoon of June 5.
The RCMP, Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department and the local ambulance all responded to a call around 4:30 p.m. regarding an accident at the end of Bond Street.
The car had veered off the road, landing in an empty plot of land between Honda Town and an apartment building on Water Street.
The RCMP were unable to confirm the cause of the accident.
Onlookers said the vehicle was airborne for quite some time before hitting the ground, leaving a small crater where it landed.
The driver, a middle-aged man, was the only passenger in the vehicle.
The RCMP told The Compass they were unable to confirm the seriousness of the driver’s injuries but said they seemed to be minor.
RCMP could not confirm whether or not the vehicle lost its brakes as it drove down Bond Street.
