A truck fell off the wharf in Carbonear Monday night, June 19.

First responders received a call at around 7 p.m. and arrived on the scene of an accident involving a truck that had tipped off the wharf and into the water.

There were no injuries, as the driver, who was not on the scene at the time, was not in the truck when it fell.

Onlookers told The Compass that the truck was placing a floating wharf in the water when it tipped over and fell. Hydraulic fluid was also seen running along the hill leading to the wharf.

Simms Garage arrived shortly after to pull the truck from the water, a process that took about 30 minutes.

The wharf suffered minor damages to the side, and fuel socks have been placed in the water to remove any excess fluids from the truck out of the water.
