There will be a Spe­cial Olympics fundraiser Sat­ur­day, Aug. 12 at the Knight’s of Colum­bus Car­bon­ear start­ing at 3 p.m. There will be lo­cal tal­ent per­form­ing from 3-8:30 p.m. with a dance to fol­low with mu­sic by Pynn’s Disco. As a part of the fundraiser, there will be a roast beef sup­per sold for eat in or take out, plus many door prizes to be won. Please come out and sup­port this won­der­ful worth­while cause. The Con­cep­tion Bay Ken­nel Club will host its an­nual dog show Aug. 12-13 at Bay Arena in Bay Roberts. Day one will fea­ture the Cana­dian Ken­nel Club Na­tional Ju­nior Han­dling com­pe­ti­tion at 11:10 a.m., along with other events. Best in Show events will be held both days at 3:30 p.m. The event starts at 8 a.m. Sat­ur­day and 9:30 a.m. Sun­day.

TD Sum­mer Read­ing Club in Car­bon­ear

Reg­is­tra­tion for the TD Sum­mer Read­ing Club is on­go­ing at Car­bon­ear Pub­lic Li­brary. Story Time will be on Tues­days at 11:30 a.m. and Sat­ur­day at 1:30 p.m. for ages 0-6, and the Ju­nior Read­ing Club will be Thurs­days at 3 p.m. and Fri­days at 1 p.m. for ages 7-12. Mu­seum and gallery

The Road to Yes­ter­day Mu­seum and the Christo­pher Pratt Gallery in the Ca­ble Build­ing, Wa­ter Street, Bay Roberts, will be open daily from 12:30-5:30 p.m. July 3-Aug. 31. This sea­son we have new art­work by Mary Pratt, Ge­orge Nose­wor­thy, Gary Kennedy and other prom­i­nent artists, as well as up­date mil­i­tary and phar­macy ex­hibits.
