Bay Roberts boardwalk improvements commendable

The Compass - - Editorial - Bill Westcott writes from Bay Roberts

A much-needed project is nearing completion in the community of Coley’s Point, Bay Roberts.

A major restoration project has been ongoing for the past few weeks replacing the aged portion of the very popular boardwalk that runs along the Coley’s Point side of the bay. The Klondike side of the facility was replaced a few years ago and is in excellent condition. So now, the entire boardwalk is safe and sound.

Residents and visitors alike to Bay Roberts and Coley’s Point can now enjoy a beautiful refreshing walk along the seashore beginning at the entrance to the Klondike from Water Street Bay Roberts and continuing around the corner to the entrance to historic Coley’s Point.

The town council of Bay Roberts is to be congratulated on this marvelous improvement to their valuable boardwalk —a centrepiece of the town and one that brings visitors from many areas (including mainland tourists) where one can walk the seashore, enjoy the spectacular view of the harbour, sit and relax for a while and savor the area while en route.

Bay Roberts and Coley’s Point are well known, well-respected historic areas where we now have the privilege to call home.

Thank you town council of Bay Roberts for excellent improvements to your valuable boardwalk.
