With daylight having slipped away shortly before the parade got underway, residents of Green’s Harbour and Hopeall were ready to get started on celebrating the holiday season.

The annual Green’s HarbourHopeall Santa Claus Parade featured lots of bright lights and well decorated floats Saturday, Dec. 2. The parade started in Green’s Harbour before making its way to Hopeall, then came back to the former community where people gathered for a snack.

The Compass parked a vehicle along the main highway and snapped these photos.

A good dog looks out from the window of a truck with a large Christmas tree set up in the back.

The E.J. Cram Home Hardware float had a lot of seasonal characters lined up on its float.

This hunter’s float from the Green’s Harbour-Hopeall Santa Claus parade made great use of lights and tree branches.

It would take considerable effort to finish off eating a gingerbread house of this size.
