Brigus parade goers march through season’s first snowfall

The first significant snowfall of the year did little to falter the holiday spirit shown by residents of Brigus during their Christmas parade.

Heavy snowflakes fell from the sky on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 16, but parade watchers and participants still managed to throw together a successful parade, marching and driving through the streets of the community.

The Compass caught the parade at the very beginning, near St. Edwards, to capture some photos of the event.

A fire truck made its way through the snowfall, leading Saturday’s parade.

Mickey Mouse, Olaf, and several other recognizable characters marched their way through the snow.

Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and some members of the fire department rode alongside some reindeer on the back of a Home Hardware truck.

The children warmed everyone up with their smiles atop their float.

This truck offered some season’s greetings to parade watchers.
