Teams representing CeeBees Minor Hockey and the Bay Arena systems already have banners to raise to the rafters in light of great play on the ice.
The CeeBees female under-20 team had a heck of a weekend at the provincial B tournament in Conception Bay South, going undefeated en route to winning the championship game.
The team from Harbour Grace beat Labrador West 3-1 Sunday, March 25, resulting in a Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador provincial banner for the CeeBees.
The CeeBees displayed a lot of talent over the course of three days, starting things off on the Friday with a 5-3 win over the Trinity Placentia TeePees from Whitbourne. Next came a 2-0 shutout win versus the Clarenville Caribous.
On Saturday, the CeeBees defeated the Mount Pearl Blades 5-1 and won against the Channel-Port aux Basques Blaze by a score of 2-1. The CeeBees once again shutout Clarenville, this time by a score of 4-0, before meeting Labrador West in the final.
Meanwhile, the TeePees kept the score close for the majority of their games played at the tournament, with four of the team’s five losses within a two-goals-or-less margin. The team from Whitbourne was victorious Sunday in an 8-3 win over the Botwood Blades.
