HARBOUR GRACE, NL — A house fire in Harbour Grace was dealt with by the local brigade last Wednesday.

The Harbour Grace Volunteer Fire Brigade responded to a call early that afternoon regarding a fire that had ignited in a home on Devonshire Road.

Firefighters on the scene told The Compass no one was home at the time of the fire, which caused smoke and water damage.

The layout of the building posed some light difficulties to firefighters responding to the call, due to the layered roof, but the flames did not take long to douse, taking approximately 15 minutes, with firefighters beginning to clean up the scene at around 3 p.m.
