Trinity-Pla­cen­tia TeePees claim sil­ver in loss to Har­bour Grace team

The Pla­cen­tia Lions, Con­cep­tion Bay North CeeBees and Trin­i­tyPla­cen­tia Tee Pees all proved their wor­thi­ness as champions in the Hockey New­found­land and Labrador tour­na­ments.

CLARENVILLE, NL — CeeBees Mi­nor Hockey had an­other golden cel­e­bra­tion at a pro­vin­cial tour­na­ment, this time win­ning at a ban­tam event in Clarenville.

The Har­bour Grace-based team faced off against the Trinity-Pla­cen­tia TeePees in the Hockey New­found­land and Labrador Ban­tam C Tier 2 fi­nal. The CeeBees de­feated the Whit­bourne club 5-3 Satur­day, April 7, to earn the pro­vin­cial ban­ner.

In win­ning for the Tier 2 divi­sion, the CeeBees won five games and suf­fered only one loss, which came in the team’s very first game, los­ing 7-1 to Lake Meville Xtreme. The CeeBees bounced back quickly with a 7-5 vic­tory over Saint-Pierre, then de­feated the same team again the fol­low­ing day by a score of 6-2.

The CeeBees’ next win came against the St. John’s Caps, a 6-3 vic­tory. Prior to fac­ing the same team in the gold-medal match, the CeeBees beat the TeePees 4-3.

The Trinity-Pla­cen­tia club fin­ished with one win, three losses and two ties, while the Bay Arena Rovers, com­pet­ing in the Tier 1 divi­sion, had two wins and three losses.
