This is your community newspaper
Thank you for reading this week’s edition of The Compass.
It’s the first week with our new and expanded distribution system.
Every week this newspaper will be delivered to 12,250 homes in Conception Bay North and Central — from Salmon Cove to Holyrood.
Your news package now also includes weekly flyers.
We believe, and hope, this change makes us an even more powerful medium for individuals, community organizations and businesses to communicate with others in the C.B.N. region. And we commit to using that power wisely. Our journalists and contributors will focus on stories that matter, articles that engage, enlighten and sometimes entertain.
Our editorials — the commentaries in this space every week — will offer constructive and important opinions on issues of concern in this region or our province.
We won’t be criticizing for the sake of criticizing. We’ll try to offer alternatives and introduce ideas.
Most importantly, we want you to use this as your medium to get your message out, to continue the Compass tradition as the community newspaper for this region.
So, please, send along your news tips, community events, opinions, photography and ideas, to allow us to do as we have done for the past 50 years, telling the stories that matter to the people of Conception Bay North.
