Kelowna’s Fred Skeleton Theatre Company is presenting Age of Arousal at the Creekside Theatre in Lake Country tonight and Friday and May 4-6.
The play, which contains adult themes and language, takes place n the time of the suffragist movement in London in 1885, begins at 7:30 p.m. The sexy and frenetic ensemble piece audaciously explores the forbidden and gloriously liberated self.
The show evolves around five ambitious New Women and one Newish Man who struggle to find their way.
Miss Mary Barfoot runs a school for secretaries with her young lover, Miss Rhoda Nunn. Spinsters Virginia and Alice and beautiful young Monica arrive on the scene, along with the attractive Dr. Everard Barfoot, and things can never be the same.

Age of Arousal is Fred Skeleton’s entry for the 2017 Theatre BC Okanagan Zone festival, which takes place May 20-27 in Salmon Arm), showcasing Canadian playwrights as part of the Canada 150 the celebrations.
Fred Skeleton won the Best Production award at this festival for the last four years running, giving the company the chance to represent the Okanagan at the Theatre B.C. provincial festival each year.
