Kelowna’s Fred Skele­ton The­atre Com­pany is pre­sent­ing Age of Arousal at the Creek­side The­atre in Lake Coun­try tonight and Fri­day and May 4-6.

The play, which con­tains adult themes and lan­guage, takes place n the time of the suf­frag­ist move­ment in Lon­don in 1885, be­gins at 7:30 p.m. The sexy and fre­netic en­sem­ble piece au­da­ciously ex­plores the for­bid­den and glo­ri­ously lib­er­ated self.

The show evolves around five am­bi­tious New Women and one Newish Man who strug­gle to find their way.

Miss Mary Bar­foot runs a school for sec­re­taries with her young lover, Miss Rhoda Nunn. Spin­sters Vir­ginia and Alice and beau­ti­ful young Mon­ica ar­rive on the scene, along with the at­trac­tive Dr. Ever­ard Bar­foot, and things can never be the same.

The show is writ­ten by by Linda Grif­fiths and di­rected by Rob Ma­son-Brown.

Age of Arousal is Fred Skele­ton’s en­try for the 2017 The­atre BC Okana­gan Zone fes­ti­val, which takes place May 20-27 in Salmon Arm), show­cas­ing Cana­dian play­wrights as part of the Canada 150 the cel­e­bra­tions.

Fred Skele­ton won the Best Pro­duc­tion award at this fes­ti­val for the last four years run­ning, giv­ing the com­pany the chance to rep­re­sent the Okana­gan at the The­atre B.C. provin­cial fes­ti­val each year.
