Leave extra time for drive to Coast

Expect delays on the Coquihalla Highway during the Canada Day weekend.

Two major road and bridge construction projects are going on, warns the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

Work is taking place at the Box Canyon chain-up area, 40 kilometres north of Hope.

Thirteen kilometres north of that, crews are resurfacing four lanes of the Dry Gulch Bridge. Three lanes will be open at all times over the weekend.

The ministry says 2,000 vehicles an hour drive the highway during the July long weekend.
