Highrise towers receive approval
Plans for two new highrise towers in downtown Kelowna have been approved.
City council has granted the necessary rezoning for a property at the northeast corner of Water Street and Sunset Drive.
Only two people spoke at a public hearing where the item was discussed by council on Tuesday. Their concerns related to such things as parking and traffic impact rather than opposition to the project itself.
One tower will be 36 storeys, the other 29 storeys. The project will also include commercial premises at street level.
