Warriors move into first place
Flying under the radar in the powerful Interior Division, the West Kelowna Warriors suddenly find themselves in first place.
Bennett Norlin scored two second-period goals as the Warriors rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to edge the Surrey Eagles 3-2 in BCHL action Tuesday at the South Surrey Arena.
Jared Marino scored late in the first period for the Warriors after Surrey chased starting goalie Cole Demers with two goals in the first 3:44. Demers made just one save before Nik Amundrud came on and blanked the Eagles. West Kelowna improved to 8-3-0 and tied with Vernon Vipers (7-2-0-2) for first place, though the Warriors would have the tiebreaker by virtue of more wins.
