Robert Greig donates his 31st unit of blood Oct. 5 as phlebotomist Tiffany Lane, with the Kelowna Blood Donor Clinic, monitors his progress. In 1976, Greig, who was a veteran skydiver with more than 250 jumps, was injured in a skydiving accident after exiting from a plane at more than 2,000 metres and falling at over 100 km/h. Greig suffered a badly broken leg and other wounds. He received 31 units of blood, four units of plasma and two units of platelets to help save his life. After the accident, Greig started donating blood again.
