City budget to be revised
Some revisions to the city’s financial plan, none of which will have an impact on this year’s tax rate, are expected today at Kelowna city council.
The changes largely reflect a switch in funding sources.
For example, a $200,000 budget for development of Lost Creek Park in Wilden was reduced because a residents’ group helped raise money for the project.
And a plan to improve the courtyard around the Laurel building was cancelled because a hoped-for provincial grant did not materialize.
The boards around the rink at Prospera Place were replaced, at cost of $318,000, using funds from a reserve account.
