Bron­cos beat War­riors to set up con­fer­ence fi­nals

Swift Cur­rent pre­vails in Game 7 over Moose Jaw

MOOSE JAW, Sask. — Stu­art Skin­ner stopped all 25 shots he faced as the Swift Cur­rent Bron­cos shut out the Moose Jaw War­riors 6-0 on Mon­day in Game 7 of their sec­ond-round play­off se­ries.

The Bron­cos will now face the Leth­bridge Hur­ri­canes in the WHL’s Eastern Con­fer­ence fi­nal, while the Everett Sil­ver­tips will take on the Tri-City Amer­i­cans in an all-U.S. edi­tion of the Western Con­fer­ence fi­nal.

At Moose Jaw, Glenn Gawdin scored twice for Swift Cur­rent, while Colby Sis­sons put away the even­tual win­ner at the 12:45 mark of the first pe­riod. Tyler Steen­ber­gen, Gior­gio Estephan and Max Pat­ter­son also scored for the Bron­cos. Brody Willms turned away 32 shots for the War­riors.

Moose Jaw’s Bran­don Schuld­haus was given a match penalty for at­tempt­ing to in­jure an­other player at 6:19 of the third pe­riod.

Swift Cur­rent went 1-for-2 on the power play and the War­riors were 0-for-1 with the man ad­van­tage.
