MUR­RAY STREET HOUSE FIRE

The Pem­broke Fire Depart­ment. re­sponded to this house fire on Mur­ray Street Sat­ur­day af­ter­noon at around 2:45 p.m. Upon ar­rival, the rear porch and ex­te­rior of the build­ing was fully en­gulfed. Fire sup­pres­sion ef­forts be­gan and the re­spond­ing crew knocked down the fire. Quick re­sponse and sup­pres­sion ef­forts kept the fire from ex­tend­ing fur­ther into the home. The three oc­cu­pants safely evac­u­ated un­harmed prior to the depart­ment’s ar­rival. County of Ren­frew paramedics did pro­vide oxy­gen for a cat, who was oth­er­wise un­harmed. Fif­teen fire­fight­ers and four ap­pa­ra­tus re­sponded. At this time the scene is un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion for the fire cause de­ter­mi­na­tion.
