North­ern movie lo­ca­tion

The Tim­mins Film So­ci­ety will be screen­ing Mean Dreams, a film that was shot in Sault Ste. Marie. Mean Dreams is a part com­ing-ofage story, part crime thriller that makes use of North­ern On­tario scenery, ac­cord­ing to a re­lease is­sued by the film so­ci­ety. The film stars Bill Pax­ton, So­phie Nelisse, Josh Wig­gings, and Colm Fe­ore, and is di­rected by Nathan Mor­lando. The film pre­miered in­ter­na­tion­ally in 2015 at la Quin­zaine des re­al­isateaurs at Cannes in May and at the Toronto In­ter­na­tional Film Fes­ti­val in Septem­ber. Mean Dreams will be shown at Tim­mins Cinema 6 on Mon­day be­gin­ning at 7 p.m. Fol­low­ing the screen­ing, a ques­tion-and-an­swer pe­riod will fea­ture Wil­liam Woods, one of the film’s pro­duc­ers who is vis­it­ing from los an­ge­les. ad­vanced screen­ing tick­ets are avail­able for $10 from Black Spruce Gallery & Fram­ing and the Tim­mins Mu­seum. On­line ticket pur­chases are also avail­able with the ad­di­tion of a small con­ve­nience fee.
