We­b­cast would ap­pear to con­tra­dict state­ment

Dur­ing Wed­nes­day night’s bud­get meet­ing City of Tim­mins chief ad­min­is­tra­tive of­fi­cer, Joe Tor­lone, stated the di­rec­tor of en­gi­neer­ing did not have a lot to do with the aquat­ics cen­tre dur­ing last year’s bud­get meet­ings.

The we­b­cast from Jan. 13, 2016, shows oth­er­wise, how­ever.

Item 2A Part 2 of 2 — 8:18 — 37:00 min­utes: “De­tailed en­gi­neer­ing draw­ings in­cluded in bud­get submissions for pro­posed new aquat­ics cen­tre, 8-12% of to­tal cost of build­ing the pool $10 mil­lion. (Coun. Joe) Campbell ques­tioned $1.5 mil­lion for draw­ings. Di­rec­tor of pub­lic works (Luc Du­val) stated $1.5 mil­lion is for project de­sign, ten­der­ing and project man­age­ment, right up to cut­ting the rib­bon upon com­ple­tion. $1.5M will be spent over three years, re­quir­ing $500,000 a year, $500,000–$600,000 for draw­ings.”

On Jan. 26, 2016, $750,000 was ap­proved for 2016 for the aquat­ics cen­tre.
