Webcast would appear to contradict statement
During Wednesday night’s budget meeting City of Timmins chief administrative officer, Joe Torlone, stated the director of engineering did not have a lot to do with the aquatics centre during last year’s budget meetings.
The webcast from Jan. 13, 2016, shows otherwise, however.
Item 2A Part 2 of 2 — 8:18 — 37:00 minutes: “Detailed engineering drawings included in budget submissions for proposed new aquatics centre, 8-12% of total cost of building the pool $10 million. (Coun. Joe) Campbell questioned $1.5 million for drawings. Director of public works (Luc Duval) stated $1.5 million is for project design, tendering and project management, right up to cutting the ribbon upon completion. $1.5M will be spent over three years, requiring $500,000 a year, $500,000–$600,000 for drawings.”
On Jan. 26, 2016, $750,000 was approved for 2016 for the aquatics centre.
