Sales up, list­ings down

au­gust 2017 saw $20 mil­lion in prop­erty sales, with a to­tal of 133 units (121 homes) sold, ac­cord­ing to a re­port by the Tim­mins, Cochrane & Timiskam­ing Districts as­so­ci­a­tion of real­tors. res­i­den­tial sales ac­tiv­ity for that month was up 8% from a year be­fore, though it was on par with sales over the five- and 10-year av­er­ages for sales in au­gust. The av­er­age price of homes sold was $158,703, up 9% from au­gust 2016. “New res­i­den­tial list­ings de­clined by 4.3% on a year-over-year ba­sis to 224 units in au­gust 2017, con­tin­u­ing a two-year trend of de­clin­ing new list­ings,” states the re­port. at the end of au­gust, there were over 1,000 ac­tive units on the as­so­ci­a­tion’s sys­tem.
