Sales up, listings down
august 2017 saw $20 million in property sales, with a total of 133 units (121 homes) sold, according to a report by the Timmins, Cochrane & Timiskaming Districts association of realtors. residential sales activity for that month was up 8% from a year before, though it was on par with sales over the five- and 10-year averages for sales in august. The average price of homes sold was $158,703, up 9% from august 2016. “New residential listings declined by 4.3% on a year-over-year basis to 224 units in august 2017, continuing a two-year trend of declining new listings,” states the report. at the end of august, there were over 1,000 active units on the association’s system.
