Curl­ing club set to break the ice on new sea­son

The cool crisp evenings of fall are upon us; this is the sig­nal for fans of rocks and rings to get ex­cited. It’s curl­ing sea­son!

The 2017-2018 sea­son for the Mcin­tyre Curl­ing Club is nearly un­der­way and there is some­thing for ev­ery­one.

Men’s League is Monday, Ladies is Wed­nes­day, Thurs­day is our Open League, and Friday is the So­cial League. A Lit­tle Rock League (for youth aged 5-12) runs Sun­day af­ter­noon in con­junc­tion with our Ban­tam League for teens aged 13-16.

Reg­is­tra­tion takes place on Wed­nes­day and Thurs­day in the club lounge from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with league play start­ing up on Monday, Oct. 16. Those un­able to make it out can reg­is­ter on­line through the club web­site.

The Tim­mins New Hori­zons Se­niors’ Curl­ing League is back again for those aged 50+ who are in­ter­ested in recre­ational curl­ing. Mem­bers have the op­tion to curl in the morn­ing up to three times a week from Tues­day through to Thurs­day. Reg­is­tra­tion for the New Hori­zons League will also take place this Wed­nes­day and Thurs­day from 9 a.m. to noon with games start­ing on Tues­day, Oct. 17.

To close out the week, the Mcin­tyre Curl­ing Club will be host­ing a Lucky Din­ner and Dance on Friday the 13th. Tick­ets are avail­able on­line through the club web­site or at the club it­self. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and ev­ery­one is wel­come.
