Curling club set to break the ice on new season
The cool crisp evenings of fall are upon us; this is the signal for fans of rocks and rings to get excited. It’s curling season!
The 2017-2018 season for the Mcintyre Curling Club is nearly underway and there is something for everyone.
Men’s League is Monday, Ladies is Wednesday, Thursday is our Open League, and Friday is the Social League. A Little Rock League (for youth aged 5-12) runs Sunday afternoon in conjunction with our Bantam League for teens aged 13-16.
Registration takes place on Wednesday and Thursday in the club lounge from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with league play starting up on Monday, Oct. 16. Those unable to make it out can register online through the club website.
The Timmins New Horizons Seniors’ Curling League is back again for those aged 50+ who are interested in recreational curling. Members have the option to curl in the morning up to three times a week from Tuesday through to Thursday. Registration for the New Horizons League will also take place this Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon with games starting on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
To close out the week, the Mcintyre Curling Club will be hosting a Lucky Dinner and Dance on Friday the 13th. Tickets are available online through the club website or at the club itself. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome.
