Blood donor clin­ics in Tim­mins next week

There are still 81 open­ings at a blood donor clinic sched­uled for oct. 16, 17 and 18. The Cana­dian Blood ser­vices donor clinic, which will take place at Paroisse st. Dominique Church hall, still needs peo­ple to fill ap­point­ments. “one-in-two Cana­di­ans will need blood at some point in their life, yet less than 4% of the pop­u­la­tion do­nates,” said Joanna Drake, ter­ri­tory man­ager with CBS in an email. “on be­half of hospi­tal pa­tients, we are ask­ing all eli­gi­ble res­i­dents of Tim­mins to roll up their sleeves to do­nate blood.” The clin­ics are be­ing held monday, oct. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m.; Tues­day, oct. 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m.; and wed­nes­day, oct. 18 from noon to 3 p.m. ap­point­ments can be made at blood.ca or 1-888-2Donate.
