NOSM medical students say thanks to host city

The Daily Press (Timmins) - - OPINION -

As medical learners beginning the next phase of our education in Timmins, we could not be more grateful for the warm reception that we have received over the past few weeks.

Everyone has gone out of their way to ensure that we feel welcome and settled, and we are truly touched.

We would like to send our sincere gratitude to the local Northern Ontario School of Medicine group, community members, local businesses, physicians, other healthcare providers, and many, many others who have welcomed us, fed us, shown us around the hospital, given us the inside scoop on the best hidden gems around town, and generally helped us settle in to our new home.

We are particularly grateful for the bountiful welcome baskets that will allow us to keep ourselves well-fed and well-connected while we are busy with our responsibilities over the coming months.

Thank you, Timmins – we look forward to learning with you.

Fran Zimmerman,

Physician Recruitment/ NOSM Site Administrative Coordinator, Timmins and District Hospital on behalf of the medical students and family medicine residents, Northern Ontario School of Medicine
