Woman as­saulted in Delhi

Po­lice seek­ing tips on sus­pi­cious in­di­vid­u­als, ve­hi­cles

A woman was taken to hospi­tal last week af­ter be­ing as­saulted in a home in Delhi.

Po­lice were called to the home on Aberdeen Av­enue near the in­ter­sec­tion of Adams Av­enue April 5 around 11 a.m. When they ar­rived, a door to the home was open and a woman inside was found in­jured.

Nor­folk paramedics took the woman to an area hospi­tal with non-life threat­en­ing in­juries.

Po­lice ask any­one in the community who saw any­thing un­usual around this time im­me­di­ately north of Delhi Dis­trict Sec­ondary School to con­tact au­thor­i­ties.

“The in­ves­ti­ga­tion is on­go­ing,” says Const. Ed Sanchuk of the Nor­folk OPP. “We are fol­low­ing up on in­for­ma­tion that we have re­ceived from the pub­lic.”

Any­one who saw any­thing sus­pi­cious in the area in ques­tion last Thursday morn­ing -- an in­di­vid­ual, a mo­tor ve­hi­cle – is asked to con­tact the lo­cal de­tach­ment at 1-888310-1122.

Tips can also be shared with Crime Stop­pers of Haldimand and Nor­folk at 1-800-222-8477. Call­ers to Crime Stop­pers who help solve a crime are el­i­gi­ble for a cash re­ward of up to $2,000.
