Paul Allen, author of the book en­ti­tled ‘When To­bacco was King – A His­tory of To­bacco in Canada

– A South­erner’s Global Jour­ney’, will be the first speaker for the 2018-2019 Gallery Se­ries Talks, hosted by the Nor­folk His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety. NHS, in part­ner­ship with Delhi To­bacco Mu­seum and Her­itage Cen­tre will fea­ture Allen on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. The mu­seum is lo­cated at 200 Tal­bot Road, Delhi.


St. Wil­liams Fire­fight­ers As­so­ci­a­tion will be hold­ing a golf tour­na­ment on Sept. 29 at Wood­side Greens golf course. Dead­line to reg­is­ter is Sept. 14. Sept. 15, Voice for Life will hold its an­nual Walk for Life fundraiser. Reg­is­ter at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s up­per par­ish hall, 211 Union Street, Sim­coe. Nor­folk Has Tal­ent is hold­ing auditions for its live stage show event. This con­test is open to many el­e­ments of the per­form­ing arts. Twenty fi­nal­ists will be cho­sen. Auditions are open to all res­i­dents of Nor­folk, Haldimand, Brant Coun­ties and Six Na­tions. Grand prize is $5,000.
