No foul play in kitten incident

The Delhi News-Record - - NEWS -

Foul play has been ruled out of a case involving two dead kittens found in a shoebox south of Simcoe last week.

On Oct. 18, two deceased kittens were found on St. John’s Road around 11:30 a.m.

A local resident saw the reports of the incident on social media and called police to explain what happened.

“She was actually driving on the roadway and noticed that two kittens were deceased, at which time she stopped, put the kittens into a shoebox and put them on the side of the roadway,” said Norfolk OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk.

The woman confirmed to OPP on Oct. 23 that the kittens had been run over by a vehicle before she arrived.

“The whole idea here is we appreciate the public coming forward with any information,” Sanchuk said. “We just want to take this opportunity to thank that person for coming forward and providing the additional information.”
